[V8] 5spd tranny code...

The 1989-1991 5sp-V8 transmission code is AWW. These are pretty hard to
come by, though as that transmission is unique to the V8. In comparison
to the Type44 transmissions it is based on, it has a few reinforced
components, notably wider gear rings and beefed-up syncro parts, to cope
with the torque. If you plan on driving your car hard, that's the way to go.
In principle, you can use any post-1988 quattro transmission off a car
equipped with procon-ten (that's the IInd gen. quattro system with
torsen center diff) Transmission codes would be A0A,ADY,ADZ AUN,AUP,AUL
AUM, AOB,AUP orAOC (no idea which of these made it to the US). The C4
quattro transmissions would also be useable.
