I can see what you mean, except that my clutch has less than 30k on  
it and it has been not at all difficult. I barely touched the pedal  
when it broke, so I'm guessing metal fatigue.  It wasn't too cold,  
either (about 8 degrees F).  I will report as soon as I get to it  
(which may be a few weeks).
