[V8] Clicking + no start?

V8 #1 has developed a new and interesting problem...When you go to start the car, it makes a fast "rat-a-tat-tat" sound for as long as I attempt to start it, and is accompanied by all the console lights flashing in time to the sound. It's pretty loud. Is my starter not engaging? I loathe the idea of doing another starter job, when I just got done with one on V8 #2, but....
