My did the same thing last month and thanks to the list they pointed me to the voltage regulator.? Advance Auto tested the battery and said it was bad but the new battery did the same thing.? The voltage reg was kicking in and out and finally would kill the battery.? All the lights were going on and then it went into limp mode and the car finally died.? Put the new regulator in a month ago and everything has been fine.

Bring the car/ battery in to be tested. May be alternator, but I'm guessing you
got a really good run on that battery.

Subject: [V8] Charging System?

This afternoon, my 1990 V8 (auto) suddenly displayed (illuminated) the red
BRAKE light, red BATTERY light and red ANTILOCK light. Also, above the
transmission selection lights (not by the shifter, but above the clock) the
yellow CAT (catalytic convertor) light came on.

If I turned on the AC, then the LCD-like display above the speedometer
showed the symbol of a battery. Turn off AC, that would go out after a
minute or so.

Drove 115 miles back home and it became clear that things were not looking
rosy.

Tranny went to limp mode. I made it home.

When I started the car (after charging) and removed the charger, I put a
digital voltmeter on the battery and it does not seem to be charging. I rev
the car and the voltmeter does not change readings (does not increase.)

All of the lights mentioned above still are lit.

Pulled Flash code 2342 (OX sensor).

Battery is a 72 month battery installed Sept 2003. (67 months old)

This all seems rather wacky.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brad
