[V8] Charging System?

I would guess the brushes are worn out - which means a new voltage
regulator unless you can figure out how to replace just the brushes.
(not all that hard) If you can, the cost is about $1.00. If I were me
though (and I am) I would take the alternator out of the car and
replace the bearings and generally clean up the whole thing.
Basically a rebuild of the alternator. Doing this gives you a whole
lot more miles of driving pleasure. If the brushed are indeed worn
out, that means the bearings have seen some miles to. I seem to
recall all the parts for mine came to about $80 (the front bearing was
expensive) and I did the labor so $0 there.
