Done! There was only one plastic nut holding my cover on. I pulled it,
found the relay, removed it, tried jumping the relay with 2 paper clips,
which didn't work -- they were loose in the terminals. So I made 2 short
jumpers with spade terminals. I used a needle nose pliers to securely
insert them, held my breath and tried starting the car. VRroooooooom!
Tomorrow I go back to the back-up lights. At least now I can cut into
that bundle of wires and not worry about not being able to start the car.
Thanks to Tony and Allan. Knowledgebase write-up to follow.
