[V8] Fuel pump removal questions, Strainer removal?

.... funny, I've found getting the thing home to be the more difficult ...
but then it seems I've been forced to work through a significantly full tank
.... 

.... there doesn't have to be anything flaking in the tank ... over time some
sort of deposit forms on the screen and impedes fuel flow ... I've seen this
on everything from my '78 Fox (which had a replaceable screen), to the 5000
and V8 with the in-tank pumps ...

Replacement, of course, is the clockwise twist.  That's usually easier than
release efforts.

Regarding the strainer, that was a suggestion for in-tank pumps that were
making a lot of noise from straining to get fuel past accumulated flaking
from the inside of the tank.  I don't recall that being an issue with V8
tanks.
