[V8] Thread question- Clutch master '91 V8 5 speed

So I apparently mis-threaded (I try to be delicate) the new clutch master to
the hard line and am debating whether or not to rethread the clutch master
with a tap -- but nowhere can I find what size that should be (guessing 12 x
1.25), or I can transfer the internals of the new aluminum housing clutch
master to the old cast iron one. The only thing is I see a few marks on the
upper part of the cylinder wall of the cast iron piece -- not wear marks,
but little nicks/gougesabout 2cm from the top.
So could someone tell me what the thread size is or wether you think it
would be fine just to move the new internals to the old cast iron case?
The reason I'm replacing is because the old clutch pedal snapped at the
flucrum point and leterally bent/snapped the actuating rod to the clutch
master last winter.
Thanks in advance, guys.
Ingo
