Second that motion.
An engine swap will be easy. Any internal engine work on these things is a
little tricky. The cylinder heads are do-able, but bottom end work is the
real killer there.
In this case, I'd recommend a used motor, one that hasn't been opened up,
take care of what gaskets need it and go from there. You can always get the
heads magnafluxed and checked for trueness on the mating surface, and
rebuild them or keep them or sell them from the wasted motor, but rebuilding
that set might get pretty spendy.
Either way, good luck with it, and make sure you do the timing belt properly
before the motor goes in.
