I heard from Andy, who did the Mercedes-caliper, A8-rotor conversion on my V8.
His response:

I am glad it is in the hands of a loving owner! If you have photos, I would love
to see how she is these days.
we made 2 versions of the benz brakes 17" wheel version and a 16" wheel version.
That v8 has the 16" version.
The 16" version uses a '98 S500 caliper and a8 rotors. We milled off the ufo
mounting bracket; machined and welded on a new bracket. Kinda a permanent setup,
but it could fit 16's for the winter so that was the goal.
The 17" version i had on my 20020vtqa. Used ufo housings, with a aluminum
machined bolt on bracket. Had to grind a tiny bit to clear the 4 piston caliper.
400 series benz caliper? We had to make .125" spacers the make the 2 peice
caliper wider to fit the rotor. Rotor was maybe a euro a8? I sold those back in
2006 to a v8q owner who is still rocking those today.
I never got a good photos on the ones you have, but i have good photo of the
first generation.

i would love to make a smal production of brakes, Gene at westmotor sports and i
made them. gene has always talked of selling these, but never did it even when
we had guys asking. if i had a set of ufo housing again, i would recreate the
setup, or even make them different.
I put g60's on my mk4 1.8t jetta, had to mod the rotors, but well worth it! I
like doing what other say cant be done or not worth it. its always worth it in
the end for a one off setup that no one runs, but always talks about.

So, there you have it. It sounds like Andy is willing to make a run of brake
kits. If you are *really* interested and ready to put up money, contact Andy,
not me. :) I CC'd him at hausofdub-at-gmail.com
