[V8] UPDATE Engine Trouble (v6 - but still Audi)

I grounded a plug to block - turned over and couldn't see any spark. I don't think I'm getting fuel because I can look in the cylinder (where the plug is removed) and it isn't wet. I have done the trick you mentioned about fuel injectors and cups - I will do that but I know I need spark first. What would cause no spark and no fuel? Thanks.
