Glad it turned out to be something so common.  The "monkey wrench" was
indeed the rain storm being added to the equation.  The old ad is right
on again...."When it rains, it pours."  ;-)
If you'd posted without mentioning rain, you would have received at least
5 replies from folks who have had wire fatigue at the accordion.
Maurice gets the cigar for this one, the only one not looking for
zebras....
