Hi, I am new to the list, but have been working on my 3 V8s '93s and '92 over
the years, so I believe that only one O2 sensor is necessary in 4.2 V8
automatics, or let me know more!
My Pressure concern is like another member wrote "when you jump on it, can
smoke quite a bit....then other times it seems fine." I have a fine '93 V8 that
pegs its oil pressure gauge when started and sends heated oil out of the hood
when raced about and stopped with strong braking. I don't believe the oil is
being combusted, but leaked at high pressure on to the exaust. I've replaced
valve cover gaskets and distributor O rings etc. It may be the oil pan gaskets,
my next "improvement" . But, is there an oil pressure regulator of any sort?
I also notice a high pitched whine coming from the fuel cap after stopping
the car. The mysterious carbon canister and its solenoid valve seem to be
suspect. Since I am new to the list, can I search the archives by key word or by
date only? Does anyone know why the pressure is building up either of the two
systems in an otherwise functioning Audi. Thanks, Bob Williams - Delaware -
I will be selling a V8 and have an Audi 100 front end and parts you may need.
