[V8] Unusual request for Canadian assitance...

Hello all,

So, this is sort of an atypical request, but good god, there is more of
this going around the country than I've ever seen.

Earlier today, a person in Montreal, Canada, called my Grandfather claiming
to be me, and long story short, of course requesting money. He claimed that
I (he) had flown up to Montreal from Fargo (which isn't too far away and
would be feasible) for a friends wedding, rented a car, crashed it, and was
not allowed to leave the country until paying the damages to the tune of
$2300. He also claimed I (he) had a concussion and jaw damage making up for
him sounding only passably like me. So far, all we got from him is an
"address of a friend" at:

402 Maple Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

I had just seen my Grandfather the other day, so though he listened to the
man on the phone, as soon as the conversation ended he called me to verify
all the info was false. We are trying to gather as much information as
possible, and have submitted a case to the local authorities. I'd be very
happy if I could gather enough info to bust this guy, as Fraud, Identity
theft and impersonation are big deals. The crazy thing is he had my
grandfathers number and my name right from the get-go, so how they
discovered this I am curious about. I certainly don't have any info about
my relatives linked on any Social networking site, nor is there number
public.

If anyone would be interested in assisting me with recon, local authority
phone numbers, and etc, I would sincerely appreciate it. I really just
can't stand letting these bastards continue to do this stuff.
