[V8] ODB2/Not V8 related

This list is funny - I spent all yesterday researching scanners.
I am also looking at buying an Innova (made by Equus) scanner, but it
is just too easy to go to O'Reilly's/Schucks and read it out for free.
It looks to me like there are two models to choose from - one that
only reads codes (about $100) and one that can also read "live data"
which would be way more useful but costs closer to $200. Equus
actually has more like ten models to choose from that add features
like ODB1 capability and ABS brake diagnostics. Both would be nice,
but the price starts to go up fast.
Just for fun, I also popped into a pawn shop on the way home and sure
enough they had the Innova $100 scanner for $50. I almost got it but
really want the live data capability.
Any input on scanner brands/models/features would be appreciated by me
as well.
