[V8] Back shocks & brakes

Guys,
I'm replacing the rear shocks & brakes on my sons 90. Also a new caliper is
in order. More on that below. Any tips on getting those bottom nuts broke
loose on the shocks? They look to be the original shocks.My impact wrench
wouldn't do shit with them. I've soaked them in PB Blaster for several
hours, hit it with a small slegde and my 19MM wrench to no avail.. I'm
seeing if I can borrow a 6 point wrench from work today.All I have is a 12
point and I don't want to round it off. I may end up having to put a torch
to them.

Also, have any of you ever seen the piston to the caliper come all the way
out? That's the case on the rear caliper replacement. It had popped out and
leaked all the break fluid out. Hopefully the MC is okay. Have a new one on
order.

Also any tips on R&R the shocks in general.Do I need a spring compressor? My
son & his friend are trying to do this. But ever 15-20 minutes, they holler
into the house for help. LOL
