Hi folks,
This is another longtime lister who may be bidding a V8 adieu (unless I
find a perfect 5 spd in my budget of 5K). I will stay on the list for sure.
My 1991 will be up for sale in the Marketplace section shortly.
I thought I would let the list know, as the car is a perfect jumping off
point for someone. Has approx 160K on it. 2nd V8 I have owned and has been in
the family for 7 years now. Bought from another lister. Has EVERY service
recipt since new in a folder 5 inches thick.
Within the last 2K miles I have replaced: Timing belt, PS pump, AC
compressor, Brake Master, Rotors and pads on the rear (car has an Audi Connection
big brake kit w/ extra set of rotors and Hawk pads), chipped ECU, front
axles have been replaced and repacked w/ new boots....plus many more new
things. I had the auto trans rebuilt to the tune of 4500 dollars a couple years
ago. Body is in very good shape and sports a rare Zender deck spoiler
painted to match ( Lago Blue), Momo Monte Carlo wood matching steering wheel.
The car has a set of 18" Fittipaldi wheels. Nice rig, needs a little
cleaning, touch up and a stereo (taking mine out, but I will leave all wiring and
routed patch cables in place)
The bad is : motor blew a head gasket last week and it's likely time for me
to move on to something newer. If the car was a standard I would indeed
just swap a motor (Force Five has them for $650 3.6-$1100 4.2), but I'm done
with slushboxes.
I guess I'm looking for a feeling of what I should sell the car for, and of
course letting the group most likley to want to purchase it know it is for
sale before I send it off to Chris at FF to get parted, or sold to someone
 locally.
Let me know your thoughts off list, and I'm happy to send some pics to
those who might be interested.
TIA!
-Jack
