This car shows well, but I have some reservations and do not believe the
mileage. I wonder if anyone has pulled a Carfax on this yet. Regardless of
the details, I am not a buyer for this car, nor would I be under any
circumstances.

I have "issues" with some of the things done to the car. First of all, as
observed already, the cargo nets are baggy. I wonder how that happened in a
car with 40-odd thousand miles?

* Then the car has been "molested" by someone, and I wonder why that
happened?

*         Why change the wheels?

* Why the ridiculous spoiler on the trunk lid?

* Why the foolish K&N filter?

* New fog lamps? If the car had lived all its life in Florida, I
doubt the lenses of the old fog lights would have needed replacement. The
listing doesn't say "fog light bulbs".just fog lights. I would guess that
the car might have been registered in Florida all its life, and lived all
winter in Sheboygan, Wisconsin or somewhere they have snow.

* Where there are suspicions of a story, there usually is one. Just
ask Tiger Woods.

IF this car was bought to keep and drive as a low mileage V8, then it was
undoubtedly a good price, and will provide terrific value and performance.
But changing the wheels, if done by the second or current owner, is foolish
when there is an aged timing belt that can give up, or allow timing to skip
at any...and I MEAN any second. When we pulled the covers off my car, we
found the original timing belt, and it was soft and spongy. I had hauled my
car home from Pittsburg because there was NO way that I wanted to ask an
unknown (at the time of delivery) condition timing belt drive more than on
and off the trailer.

So, to me, this car has been played with. I doubt that the original owner
put on the wheels, so it was someone else. The car is worth five or six
grand with a 100% complete, and documented major service, preferably either
by an Audi dealer of someone who is recognized as an "expert" Audi tech.

Without that, it is a $3,000 V8, of unknown mileage. My guess is around
100K. If it has been in Florida all its life, from the underpinnings it
will be hard to tell.

I hope someone on the list buys it so we will know the "rest of the story",
as Paul Harvey used to say.

Roger
