[V8] window regulator clip

That upright that the window itself attaches to and slides along is part of
the window regulator assembly. It is bolted at the top and the bottom.
When removing the window regulator, it is part of the unit. You do not
remove the clips pictured to remove the window regulator from the door. You
would only release those clips when you are disassembling the regulator
assembly itself.

If you merely want the window up and do not want/need to have a functioning
regulator at this time, you can unclip the window from the regulator by
removing a c-clip from the back side of the blocky slider thingy in the
picture. It is on the very left edge of your photo. On the back side of
that is a round peg that pokes through the lower metal portion of the window
and is secured with a c-clip. If you get a mirror, you should be able to
see it very easily. Then you can just prop the window in the up position.

Subject: [V8] window regulator clip

I'm trying to remove the port-side window regulator from the rear door. I've
got the 3 nuts that hold the motor undone, and the 2 bolts that hold the
upper bracket. But I'm stuck with 2 clips that hold the cables to their
respective brackets.

If I manage to squeeze the legs and push the clip through
its hole, will that release anything, or will that just
cause more trouble?

All I'm trying to do is to do is get the window up. Putting
12V power directly to the motor wires doesn't move the motor (or the
window). So I'm hoping to remove the regulator motor to test it and/or
repair it, or at least free up the window so I can push it up into place and
clamp it there.
