[V8] Hello (again), and maybe some advice?

Yea, fun Saturday project alright!! I'll be doing the front suspension on 
the 4000Q, so we'll be "working together" on Audi projects :)

Yes, the ECU needs this both the Reference sensor and Timing sensor signals 
to start the fuel and spark sequences. Loss of either signal and no spark or 
fuel.

It is usually preceeded by the same symptom as you are having, but only when 
hot. Then, as it gets worse, the engine has to cool each time for a longer 
period. However, as your car has sat for sometime, it hasn't had the chance 
to warn you> Don't you know about letting old German cars sit ;-) ??
