[V8] CC head lights out

Jason, a few ideas.

the dimmer has already been mentioned, so I'll reinforce that one. The CC
lights go out long before the dash lights are fully dimmed. That was always
a frusteration for me, since I prefer the dash lights pretty dim at night. I
just got used to bringing them up for a second when I wanted to see the CC
display.

The drain and relay clicking may very well be related. There is a relay on
teh instrument cluster (sits toward the back of it) that controls your
interior lights. That's the first thing I'd be checking, as it can cause
both the clicking and the battery drain.

Yea, the day has come. However, it's not all that bad. I'm sure someone else
can go into the details better than I can. I can just tell you for sure that
pulling the kick panel/glove box and wood trim isn't necessary. BTDT about
the first four times I pulled one. It takes a lot longer that
way..........DOH!!

Guys,

A few electrical issues have recently appeared. First it was a electrical
drain which I believe is in the instrument panel circuit.

Then the CC head lights died but only when the headlights are on. Is there a
back light in there? Lights up fine with the headlights off.

Now a erratic clicking in the dash/ instrument panel. Sounds like a relay
popping on and off. Anybody have a idea whats in there that might cause
this?

Almost ten years of ownership and this car has been a jewel. I've done
almost everything but take the dash pad off. I knew the day would come.

Many thanks to all the frequent posters of the V8 list. It's always been a
great resource for a broke V8 owner.
