My light has come on in the past when the coolant level is only +- 8oz low. Make sure it is topped off

Jason is right, the temp light is only there for the coolant level. If the
ar senses overheating, the flashing is in the "self-check" display. Ask me
ow I know :(

thought that the flashing thermometer was only for the level on the
xpansion tank? Could be a bad switch? Try unhooking the switch and
umpering the contacts to check - be careful if the expansion tank is old it
ill break when you try this. I guess that light could come on if the car
hought that it was overheating - but I don't remember that light being
here for that reason. Someone else may remember. Good luck.
