Jack, one other option is to get a shorter belt for the meantime until you 
get another compressor, and bypass it. The easiest way to figure length is 
with a piece of string. Run it the same as your current belt, except bypass 
the AC compressor. Then hold the joint together and use a sharpie to make a 
mark across both ends of the string.
