[V8] COPS! No, the good kind!

Ha, title is a joke, I promise! If we have any of our beloved boys in blue
here....

But, the turbo question, and my recent curiosity reminded me that I hate the
V8 ignition system. I figure that dizzy caps and such were par for the
course in 1991, but the sophistication of some of the more recent ignition
systems is mind boggling. If I hadn't seen it and done it myself, I never
would have believed you can get such a significantly smoother idle and high
RPM operation and a bit of power out of just an ignition change out. Of
course if you haven't figured it out yet, I'm talking about Coil-on-plug
ignition systems, or commonly known as COPs.

So, what I'm curious about is to see if anyone has done this on the V8
Before? I know its going to infinitly more difficult than going from
waste-spark to true 4 coil ignition, and more difficult than a car with an
ICM and "normal" coils and wires, as we have the archaic dizzy system.
It would be interesting, and after its all installed, keeping it up would be
cheaper than the cap/rotor/wires of the current V8.

Thoughts, ideas, etc? Can't find much in the archives either.
