[V8] Synthetic ATF--- WTF!

The synthetic ATF thing is on par with getting off the gold standard, I
recall my first 5 gallon pail of DTE-13M cost a tad over $35 while
Pento$in liquid gold was around $12 a can after market, and $25 a liter
at the dealer.
"Synthetic" is the key word here, I have parted my share of type 44's,
the ones that were running regular dino ATF all had swollen/leaking
booster diaphragms and dead bombs. There were also inordinate amounts of
dislodged crud in the system on these cars.
I can't say for sure, but I'd say staying away from regular AT is a no
brainier. I was given a running KS many moons ago, in order to have some
fun with it before the remains went to the boneyard, I patched a leaking
hose and put in el cheapo dino ATF, ten minutes later the pump seized
solid. Anecdotal evidence for sure, that was my BTDT for dino ATF.
This list is great, low signal to noise and rarely any BS. The info
about synthetic ATF came from unimpeachable long term V8Q owners/listers,
if these guys had recommended cow piss in their BTDT, I'd be holding a
bucket on the southern end of a northern bound cow! Unless you peruse
some of the other user groups out there every now and then, it's easy to
forget just how unique and rare a list like this really is out there in
the ether.
BCNU,
Yahoo nuked my website with no warning.
