[V8] ATF--- WTF!

I knew once the ATF thing got mentioned, that "Mr C"(cobram,how's it  
going?) would reply.  I filled the Pearl car with Mobil 1 ATF as I  
thought it was a parts car at the time(had it), and subsequently  
bought a 5 gallon bucket of DTE 13-M(Mobil) Hydraulic fluid(something  
many have said was a good alternative to Pentosin), and will credit  
Mr C, for influencing that.  I had every intention of flushing the  
system in that car/Lago, then I sold the Pearl car.  Before I sold  
the pearl car, I noticed(what many have), that the rack leak in the  
Pearl car seemed to be smaller.  The Lago car has a rack hemmorage,  
and since I'm going to replace it, I will do the hoses, then fill it  
with Mobil 1 ATF, and see what happens with the rack.  I have no  
interest at this point in doing the rack on that car(it needs the  
total timing belt service, so hasn't moved.  Once I do the timing belt 
(2 years now!) I'll flush the system with the DTE....then Fill with  
Mobil 1 ATF...just to see what happens to the rack.  This should  
settle any question, as the car only has 107K, and anything that will  
stop the rack from leaking is worth the current price of gold(I'd   
put 30w in there if someone said it worked).  The 5 gallon pail was  
$84 if I'm correct, and I've got ample to flush/fill my cars 
+........the 5-speed had it's entire system flushed with the real  
stuff before  I bought it, so the 5 gallon pail is virgin at this  
point.....Find it under Hydraulic service/oils/whatever.....I've got  
3 refineries near me, so It wasn't hard....same stuff my friend uses  
in his backhoe/refinery uses for many hydraulic uses).......adios ..tom
