I agree with Ingo. And to completely address this you'd also need to
know if his car is also a 4.2 The 4.2 is where you get different oil
cooler lines (and the external cooler)

To say that the transmissions are the same is accurate. The differential
flanges (to the CV joints) *may* be different and would require using
the ones on the car now but that's no big deal. The Specific model is ZF
4HP24A. (the A for Audi or AWD Variant).
