Was it the computer that controled the "Sport Mode" I know my 1990 would not shift out of third when it was in the sport mode until about 100MPH and the 1991-1993 will shift into overdrive at normal speeds.

ooler lines (and the external cooler)
To say that the transmissions are the same is accurate. The differential
langes (to the CV joints) *may* be different and would require using
he ones on the car now but that's no big deal. The Specific model is ZF
HP24A. (the A for Audi or AWD Variant).
