It is known that the spread is extremely wide - whereas I personally 
think that most engines which fall back in power output have sensoric or 
ignition/injection problems. I don't think that the spread on the 
mechanical manufacturing of the heads and the engine block is that 
broad. Sure, there may be some horsepowers, but not more than around 10. 
Rumours say that Audi took the better performing engines for "special" 
people like Audi board members. Anyways, people tell about PTs running 
like ABHs and the other way around.
