[V8] Diagnosing intermittent cruise control problem

My money is on the pedal switch. Either it needs adjustment, or the  
brake pedal is not returning the way it should due to a spring broken  
maybe?
When you hit a bump, the pedal swings a little and pops the switch.  
Fairly common problem in any car.
