Brad, Make sure both your electric, and belt driven fans are working correctly. If either one of them are not pulling enough air through the condensor, the freon will expand to the point where it tigers the high pressure safety cut out. This can be verified by fault code #16 on channel one of the climate control head. Another quick test is it to take a spay bottle(or a garden hose) and spray the condenser down while the a/c is set to high. You should see two things happen if you have a presure gauge hooked up,1) you will see the pressure drop, and 2) you will feel the a/c get colder. Good luck. Al

My 1990 V8 has an AC problem where some of the time the air is COOL and the
rest of the time it's not.
Is there an obvious place to look before taking this into the shop?
