Yes, my '93 had a pinhole in the coolant line where the mufflers join. The local
trans guys offered a Free inspection, but would not let me have it back until they
fixed it. I told them I had my own coolant lines, but they went with their fix, a piece
of hose! $200 and a major leak later, I will now replace the section of line OEM. I
discovered the lines have couplings. Unscrew the nut and then it appears all one
piece, there is a high tolerance slide end on the line withe the shoulder and nut. It
has to be wiggled out. Possibly a tool like a tack puller with a sharpened 1/2"
radius would help.
I wondered where the line goes that is attached to the plug at the bottom center of
the trans. Also, I won't take my books to the mechanics anymore because the trans
book is missing. Where is the automatic trans fluid cooled in the little one on the
left or the side of the radiator? They are joined by a Y connector. Thanks, Bob
Seems it's best to do the work yourself, even if every job is learned while
attempting it. To those junking these cars, almost every part is a rare one, so dig
in!
