[V8] Coolant temp sensor

What happens if you put an ohm meter on the sensor? Just curious if it
matches the specs for the OEM unit.
Maybe the previous owner bought into silly performance gimic, and
tried a different sensor to fool the ECU.
Remember the guy who was selling the super dooper (as in doggie doo)
V8 performance kit that was basically a resistor in series with the
air temp sensor so you could fake out the ECU to believe you were
driving at the North Pole (before it melted anyway) and therefore
increase your power by up to 700 hp*?
