If you ever lose coolant due to a leaking hose, you will see the value of properly
maintained hoses. The alloy heads and block will not tolerate overheating. If a hose
ever slips off due to a clamp that is not tight or a hose failure allows coolant to
leak, do not refill until the engine is Cold. Refilling a trickle while the engine is
running will seem to work, but 6 months down the road a head problem will
appear. Even a bad heater hose can condemn your car to the dreaded status of
needing head work those costs make it seem like a fatality. Bob
