V8 CV joints not made anymore???....that seems crazy....who  else seconds this....i have 4...maybe i am sitting on buried treasure

Scott Phillips nailed the problem....
It was a failed CV joint - understand they are not made anymore, fortunately there is a source from a wrecked V8 at the local junk yard.  Won't have to cancel subscription with 'audifans' - the 'beast' lives on for a while longer!
