[V8] Back to it. Running issues.

Hello All,
After an extended lapse from the 91 V8 running issue. (Wrench closed shop, took my car to his house. Snowed 8+' on top of it. I was working out of town, so no help from me. Finally the car is clear, and I am home.)
We found air leak in intake manifold. So IM gaskets are on order. Seems the old gaskets are kinda brittle. Also discovered some old and tired vac hoses. All will be replaced.
 
To a question: The brown ended knock sensor had some of the wire covering worn off. I have a new green ended knock sensor,+- $15.
The browns are considerably more. +-$50(?)
I do know that the ends seem to be interchangeable. I have crossed them over previously.
Is there a difference? Can I just buy another green and plug in?
