i too have never used the starter method. scares me. i put the car in 1st
(manny tranny), usually loading the trans as best as i can, yank the parking
break as hard as i can and crank away. i can usually get it mostly torqued.
i then use the breaker bar and a helper to hold it. easy breezy.
