Scott, I think Mark's write up pretty much summed it up quite nicely.  
Nobody said the 3.6 system in the 4.2 was "better"....it just was  
easier, and got the car back on the road, and you didn't have to look  
for a "enterprising and benevolent soul" to help you out with that  
uber rare 4.2 ABT chip.  If horsepower is what you are after, then  
even having distributors is just lame.  It's all about time/money/ 
what you are after.  I could throw small bags of $100's @ 034 and  
they'd make that 4.2 chip look like my old Texas Instruments TI-55,  
but would require those bags of $100's.  Since I don't own a 4.2  
anymore, I don't really care , and most of the 4.2 people don't care  
since there's no "enterprising and benevolent soul" around willing to  
help them make the most of what they've got in the way of a simple  
and inexpensive chip.....Simple and Inexpensive are where it's at in  
my book.....Tom
