hello,

thanks for the input on my little problem with my rear windows. I had a hissy fit tonight on the car.

Tonight i took apart the driver door and got a good look at the door jamb wiring, and took out switch cluster. I did find two maybe 3 cut wires in the jamb, and some very old electrical tape. As i jiggled and pulled on the cluster i saw evidence of a short. i taped up what i saw. (as i jiggles i had seat movement i think)

However the switches for the rear windows have power and i eliminated the switches as the problem. When i hit the switch the lights dim on the over head, but there is NO movement in rear windows. The rear cigarette lighter does work, and i checked the fuse. its good. I don't thing the wires in the Jamb are the problem, however i did notice something odd, occasionally the light on the switch itself would light up, then go off but even when the switch had its light no window movement.

1. Maybe one of the two relays that control the windows is bad? ( i was a little scared in that relay section on passenger side) did not touch anything......
2 what are the chances of both motors in the rear doors went bad?

is there a quick way just to check read doors to see if the motors and windows work and then ill know the problem is in front of car?
thanks for help guys i really enjoy this club.

I also have a 1987 5000TQ which is currently my daily driver where i have no current problems.... (thank god)

    Chris
