You can buy the nylon stuff that the factory lines are made of, Then, of
course, you will have to find a way to secure it to the factory fittings. Of
course, you won't end up with the nice looking braided stainless over them,
but hey, at least you have the factory inner line.

I don't know the IDof the factory front lines on teh V8. However, I just
noticed Lowes has some 200PSI 1/4" id plastic/rubber fuel line.It will fit
right onto the factory banjo fitting for the fuel pump on my 4000CSQ, so I'm
thinking it has many uses in the Audi realm of things. Next time a set of
lines rusts out (front to rear of car) that's what I'm using for
replacement.

I just had mine rebuilt. I didn't even look for OEM -assuming that either
they were $800 each and or NLA.
I had them use high temp hose after I found a previously rebuilt main supply
hose broke due to the under hood heat turning it to glass. It was cheap,
but it would be wise to inspect them regularly since the OEM hose is a lot
different that what I can find aftermarket - meaning that the OEM stuff has
a hard inner part and everything else is some rubber compound.
