Hey Roger, I'll second the buff the lens's first(can make an amazing  
difference) and if still weak, throw a new set of bulbs in if they  
are more than a few years old.  My brother in law has a 98 that we  
use to tow his boat, and had 1 headlight go out on a trip.  We  
replaced all the bulbs and it was like "night and day" literally.  I  
also noticed that partsgeek had the entire headlight assembly's  
aftermarket for under $50.  While the truck may not be a ball of  
rust, your connections/grounds might be a bit corroded also.  I spray  
all the connections/etc under the cover of my outboard with  
CorrosionX since a fine mist of saltwater get's sucked thru the  
cowling.  Your truck uses the same bulbs as my 04, and my headlights  
are awsome....Of course, when I think of rural Maine, I'm also  
visualizing a light bar with a row of Hella's....Good luck...Tom
