[V8] V8 steam engine

Have you had a coolant leak or spilled coolant on the front of the motor?
I had that noise and tried lots of expensive fixes but it ended up being the pivot for the timing belt tensioner getting sticky - caused I think by dried coolant.
You can probably see it by removing the right timing cover and running the motor.  Maybe even a small squirt of WD40 on the pivot would temporarily fix it and confirm the problem.
The cure is just to regrease the pivot, but unfortunately that means removing the whole belt.
