[V8] Ignition Rotor

With the possible exception of the Check Engine Light being wired on
49-state cars, the dizzy rotor P/N is likely the largest piece of
misinformation out there on the V8Q's in the USA.
The usual story you'll hear from the parts sources is that one side needs
one part and the other needs another. One rotor is a most familiar terra
cotta colored slip on rotor and the other is a black screw down type. Many
years ago I bought both. The dizzies both had the terra cotta colored slip
on style that were glued down at that factory. It is a fairly simple matter
to break them free; I carefully crushed them with vise grips pliers. Where
the slip on rotor slides onto the dizzy with no play, the indexing boss on
the black rotor is narrower than the slot in the dizzy, meaning there can be
considerable play. Use the terra cotta colored parts. I checked the garage
to see if I could find a box with a P/N to pass along ... but no joy ...
As Dave mentioned ... the factory indicates the rotor is to be glued in
place, most likely a precaution taken because the dizzies are oriented
horizontally ... as long as you find the rotor slides firmly and positively
into place IMO there is no need for Loctite.

Subject: [V8] Ignition Rotor
According to ETKA there is one variant of ignition rotors, according to GAP
there is two.
I was wondering how I know which ones I need or which is the right one?
