[V8] Bogging Down

My MAF went bad slowly, but never threw a code. The TPS could be telling the
engine it's at idle or full throttle when it's not, but other than idle and
full throttle it's not used. You could check that by limply unplugging it
and driving without. The Trans does use it throughout the full range for the
sport mode, however.

The knock sensors will not cause that bad of an issue, just retard the
timing too much, causing you to loos a bit (probably 5% at most) of your
power. Generally they fail open anyhow (that's all I've ever seen) which
gives no knock signal, as in no engine protection. But, full power.

I would be surprised if the timing sonsors would be causing this, as they
are used for startup timing and continual timing of the engine. Never seen
one fail that didn't cause the engine not to run. One will cause the car to
die completely, the other will affect hot restarting.

HTH,
Tony
