I don't know why my OEM went out so fast. The original was toast at 100K miles, and I just attributed that to the previous owner. When this one went at 65K miles I started to smell a rat - but I think my problem is going to be mechanical - as in something to do with the throwout arm. I should know in a few days. I am in process of pulling the motor now. Fun stuff.
btw, I was talking to my buddies at the local audi shop, and they had a old 5000 in there with a little over 500,000K miles on the original motor and clutch. It was in for new valve seals, which apparently it has had before, but the head has never been off. Why can't my car go that far??
and another btw, the audi boys also said the OEM would be the best for long life. It must be the Lago Blue or something that is eating mine up.
