[V8] High Idle

Are you sure the linkage is not binding anywhere?

If in doubt, the throttle plates come off pretty easy for cleaning and
inspection.

If not mechanical, then MAF sensor? I hope not, but I just had to replace
mine.  It idled OK but was very erratic at lower RPM.
