[V8] High Idle

Check the throttle rod in the front (by the ISV) of the manifold - I made a Knowledgebase on this some time back and there are lots of pictures. My V8Q throttle rod was binding in the front of the manifold and required considerable lubrication to make it move freely. I had a similar symptom to yours before it decided to bind wide open in the middle of a turn in the city... whee. I ended up cleaning both ends of the throttle rod, the body and the ISV, but it was the pivot point in the front of the manifold that was the binding point.

Are you sure the linkage is not binding anywhere?

If in doubt, the throttle plates come off pretty easy for cleaning and
inspection.

If not mechanical, then MAF sensor? I hope not, but I just had to replace
mine. It idled OK but was very erratic at lower RPM.
