I just went through something similar with my explorer. In that case,
there is a tiny spring in the door latch that is guaranteed to break in
time. It happened to us on a ski trip to Utah. Nothing like having the
family crawl over the seats with all the ski stuff on. Anyway on to your
problem:
I was able to remove the seat and then remove the door panel without
causing any damage. I have no idea if this is possible in your case, but
just be calm, put down the sawzall and think it through. There is
probably an elegant solution.
And if not? maybe you COULD use the sawzall to make yourself a nice
compact pickup truck.
