Hey Ron, I'm curious as well about the "friction block".  On the  
subject of bending valves at low RPM's, my 5-speed lost the belt  
while on the rack and idling at the mechanics(before I got it), and  
since it was a good shop/good customer, they immediatly pulled the  
heads, and had barely bent valves on both heads(no piston damage) As  
I recall there were only 2-3.....Since it was actually a great shop,  
they ordered 2 new heads, and reused the 5-speed cams.  If you are  
gonna go deep enough to do the belt, you might want to just pull the  
heads...if nothing else, you get new valve seals....Hate to see you  
put it all back together, to see that they're bent.  Tom
