[V8] Turn signals, emergency flashers not working

1990 V8 automatic.  A few weeks ago, turn signals began to not work, then 
work, then not work, etc.  Never checked emergency flashers, but now that 
the turn signals are not working at all, I checked emergency flashers and 
they also don't work.  The work/don't work/work/don't work seems to rule out 
a fuse.  Any ideas what might be going on and what I might check?
